Surfachem Group, a major distributor of speciality chemicals to the cosmetics and personal care, household, industrial and institutional cleaning, pharmaceutical and industrial chemicals markets, are looking to recruit an IT Apprentince.

The successful candidate will work towards an industry recognised qualification as part of the role and be paid a competitive salary whilst they train.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upgrade the windows environment including virtual machine provisioning & administration
  • Configuration, deployment & support of hardware & software including hand held devices
  • Monitoring and deployment Office365 and related server resources 
  • Monitoring & configuration of WAN/LAN and associated devices
  • Monitoring & support for all business telecommunications including mobile asset management & support
  • Provide suggestions for process & procedure improvement 
  • Developing Knowledge Base database 
  • Plan and schedule for change management
  • Performing logical fault finding
  • Management of assets register
  • Data extraction and manipulation via report building and administration in SQL
  • Anti-virus, web and e-mail security administration
  • Provide user support & user training


  • Windows server and desktop operating systems including virtual environments
  • Hardware configuration and troubleshooting
  • LAN/Wan configuration experience
  • Office product suite including Office 365 administration and development 
  • An understanding of SQL and database architectures, including reporting and integration services
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills 
  • Good communication skills
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Working knowledge of Cloud and Cloud services (preferable)
  • Sage ERP/CRM/SEI experience (preferable)
  • Distribution or accounting background (preferable)
  • Knowledge of Data Protection (preferable)
